Motorsport and the lessons learned at the track have always been the driving force behind Porsche. With the international success of the legendary 935 race car, Porsche began to field requests from customers asking for a street-legal version of what they saw winning race after race. It was not until a special customer arrived with an outlandish request to convert a 935 for the street that they began to take this new idea seriously by creating the "Sonderwunsch," or Special Wishes department.

By 1987 demand for the Slantnose special wish had grown to the point that Porsche began to offer a standardized option code "M505'' for US market cars. While a M505 was highly desired it was also expensive. By 1988 the cost had risen to $25,078 and consequently this is one of just 145 Slantnose coupes imported to the US in 1988. In true Porsche fashion the Slantnose option is more than just a styling exercise. Extra air vents were added above the front wheels to allow the high-pressure air to escape and reduce front-end lift at high speeds. The Turbo's rocker panels were also widened, and cooling ducts were added in front of the rear wheels helping cool the engine oil and rear brakes. A 911 Turbo is a desirable car, and the M505 Slantnose option is a significant motorsport inspired upgrade adding a whole other level of desirability and hand-built exclusivity.

This 1988 Porsche 911 Turbo Slantnose was sold new at Brumos Porsche of Jacksonville, Florida, and is finished in Silver Metallic over Silver Gray Leather. Before leaving the Sonderwunsch department, the car received the "930S" color crest steering wheel option. When the original owner decided to part with his car, he sold it back to Brumos where it joined the famous Brumos collection until it was acquired by its current owner in 2012. The desirable color-matched Fuchs alloy wheels are also present on this car and are believed to retain original paint and interior in wonderfully preserved condition today. With just 24,526 miles, motorsport pedigree, and a high degree of originality this Slantnose just may be the ultimate collectible 3.3-liter 911 Turbo.
