This legendary Porsche 959 from the year 1988 is one of 292 street-legal versions. Originally, the 959 was developed as a homologation model for motor sports, hence its small production run. With its water-cooled biturbo engine, cylinder heads with 4 valves per cylinder, an electronically controlled chassis, as well as aerodynamically optimised bodywork, the 959 was the first 4-wheel-drive Porsche and the fastest car of its era with a top speed of 315 km/h due to its 450 PS and 500 Nm of torque.
In the mid-1980s it was a time machine, a stroke of genius designed by the development department in Weissach. However, the technology behind the 959 was so innovative that it was not used in other cars until many years later.
