Description

The car was supplied new by H R Owen on the 30th November 1968.
Within the substantial provenance, there is a certified copy of the works build sheet, confirming that this Aston DBS 6 Vantage is a factory specified Vantage with the rare 5 speed ZF gearbox and power steering, together with creature comforts including its Motorola radio and heated rear window. Even its Fiamm Horns are shown on the build sheet.

Aston Martin Heritage Trust have known this car from new and inspected the car in 2014, noting this DBS 6 Vantage was ‘complete and genuine in all respects.

In 2016 the car underwent a sympathetic 2nd restoration in its 50 years by Tester Engineering. The work included,

• Complete interior trim
• Bare metal repaint to its original colour of Aquamarine
• Fit new sills

In 2021 the car underwent.
• Detailed engine bay recommission including new brake, clutch and master cylinders
• Full underside suspension, axle, differential strip and recommission. New bearings, bushes, rebuilt differential.
• Service, including carburettors stripped and sonically cleaned.
• Rebuilt power steering ram.
• Stripped and rebuilt brake calipers with new pistons

Previous to this, the car has been serviced and maintained by renowned Aston specialist such as, Pugsley and Lewis, RS William Ltd and Robin Hamilton.

The history file covers servicing, restorations and other works from 1982, together with supporting MOT’s.

At this time, whilst the previous owner believes the mileage to be genuine, it is not guaranteed.

The DBS 6 Vantage with its 325BHP, is capable of over a 140MPH and reaches 60MPH in a shade over 7 seconds. Its 5-speed gearbox allows a relaxed cruising speed of over 120MPH.
