IMPECCABLE RESTORATION AT ONE OF THE MOST WELL KNOWN COMPANIES IN THE NETHERLANDS FOR AN AMOUNT WHICH IS MUCH HIGHER THEN THE CURRENT VALUE
1 OF THE MOST DIFFICULT CARS TO FIND IN PROPER RESTORED CONDITION DUE TO THE HIGH RESTORATION COSTS
THE MOST DESIRABLE VERSION, 3.8 LITRE, MANUAL GEARBOX WITH OVERDRIVE + SUNROOF
A SUPERB SPORTSCAR WHICH OFFERS LUXURY AND SPACE

According to sir William Lyons, well known as mister Jaguar is the MKII the maximum of grace, pace and space.
Nowadays the Jaguar MKII is known as one of the nicest classic saloons which was used in the past the track as well as on a daily base on the main roads. This sentence tells enough about the unique driving characteristics of the Jaguar MKII.
The car can be both used for racing as well as for comfortable use on the main roads. In other words, this is a very fast car with perfect road behavior / holding and that declares the huge succes of the Jaguar MKII.

The MKII has two faces, one face shows a very fast sport saloon which make the car very attracting during its years for the police as well as for the thieves (think of the movies from Get Carter with Michael Caine and off-course inspector Morse). The other face showed an extremely comfortable, representative car which was mainly used as a business car for the upper-class.
The space inside, the way of sitting in the chairs, the looks, but above all the way of driving make the Jaguar one of the greatest saloons to have in a collection.

Approximately 6 years ago we were able to find a Jaguar MKII in a unique condition. We drove about 10.000 kilometers with the car in one summer.

The car which we owned that time had a 3.8 litre engine with manual gearbox and overdrive like the car we offer today.

Yes it is the most desirable version and the most difficult version to find nowadays and certainly in a nice condition because the restoration costs of the Jaguar MKII are high, very high. We explain later why….

ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE
This Jaguar MKII has been bought in the nineties by a gentlemen in the Netherlands.

The gentlemen, an absolute car lover kept this car since the nineties.

Originally the Jaguar was sold in the US but already since December 1979 the car has been registered in Holland.

If money was not an issue there is/was 1 address to stop by for the absolute best / highest quality restoration for this type of car which is Noble House in the Netherlands.

And yes, this specific car has been completely nut and bolt restored by Noble House. A restoration book which comes with the car shows the extremely thorough nut and bolt restoration by a company which has restored quite a number of these cars which means that knowledge was gained over the years and one can see clearly that Noble House restored MKII’s are very well restored examples.

But we always make the joke that you need to have a fight with your money if you decide to restore a Jaguar MKII because the restoration is extremely expensive and the costs are easily higher then the value of the car.

This Jaguar MKII An enormous amount of money must have been spend on this Jaguar as a Jaguar MKII is 1 of the most expensive cars to restore.
During a restoration a Jaguar MKII is in need of everything in a large quantity. Please think of the following:

- The body is large so a lot of money has to be spend on the restoration of the body
- The quantity of chrome parts is extremely high with a Jaguar MKII
- The interior is full of wood
- A lot of glass/windows is/are needed
- Amongst the wood, the interior is full of leather

So a restoration of a Jaguar MKII is extremely expensive and this is the main reason why it is possible to buy for a very low price a restoration object. A proper restoration exceeds probably 2 times the market value of the Jaguar MKII.
Anyway, a Dutch gentlemen has done a restoration and the result is very nice.

CONDITION EXTERIOR

Details such as the door fittings are excellent.
The chrome looks fantastic. If you look very close you can find some little signs of patina which belong to a car with this age.
The paintwork is beautiful with a nice deep shine and the color suits the MKII so well.

The windows and doorrubbers are all in a very nice condition as well.

Actually it will be very hard to find an MKII in such a condition.

CONDITION INTERIOR

The interior of the MKII is fabulous.
The restoration has been carried out so well and the interior is perfectly period correct done. If you are driving an MKII you are surrounded by luxury.
Thick soft leather, comfortable seats and a lot of high gloss wood and chrome. It gives a feeling of being in a cosy cinema.
We personally like to drive an MKII when it is dark. In the middle part of the dashboard is a switch which turns on the interior lights. Believe us when we say that you have the feeling to be in a very luxurious living room or in a cinema as described above.
Difficult to explain but you will agree if you experience.

The wood of the MKII is all around you and this makes restoring an MKII so expensive. Not only on the doors you find the beautiful high gloss wood, also around the inner roof and off-course the dashboard.

DRIVING EXPERIENCE

Driving the Jaguar is extremely nice.
We took the MKII for some shopping recently.
It felt as the MKII was a daily driver. The handling is absolutely superb. The car drives extremely easy and is very very fast.
One can easily drive 140 to 150 kilometers an hour with the car due to the fact that the car is fitted with the desirable 4 speed gearbox with overdrive.
The combination with the 3.8 liter engine is just fabulous and gives a huge smile on our face.

The combination of the 4 speed gearbox with overdrive is superb. One can drive very comfortable and with a low engine sound on the motorway while it is a very fast car to drive in the lower gears.

So the current condition of this car is fantastic.
The car is off-course starting withe ease and is in superb operation, with an easy to handle clutch, responsive brakes and exhilarating performance.
The car handles adroitly, just as you may expect from a car which was used by the police in those years as well as by the famous bank robbers!

Just to finish this story. There is quite a lot of differences in a MKII and a MKII. Also price wise one can find different offers. Be aware that restoring an MKII is expensive and that it is very difficult to find examples like the example we currently offer.

Nevertheless if you are interested in an MKII buy such a car because these cars are fabulous and give a lot joy for a very reasonable amount of money.
