Description

Today we take it for granted that a new Range Rover is both supremely capable off road and a luxury family wagon rolled into one, this lovely car is one of the very earliest examples of such a Range Rover

Having lived in Madrid her whole life she has been in the optimum climate for preservation and stored indoors for the vast majority of her life in any case

As big fans of the Classic Range Rover we couldn't resist when the opportunity to buy her presented itself, for she is one of the very earliest examples with four doors and the 5 speed gearbox

In fact she has a whole plethora of specifications that were introduced to move the Range Rover more into the luxury market quite a few of which only became available the year of her production

Sundym tinted glass, power assisted steering, front and rear armrests, front and rear head rests (with original velour covers still fitted), palameno velour trim, rosewood door cappings and of course factory air conditioning - which by the way is blowing ice cold on the back of a new compressor

All of the above together with the fact she is early enough to still have the appearance of one of the 1970's version with vertical louvres to the front grill & Rostyle steel wheels meant she just couldn't be overlooked

She starts with a pull of the choke and a turn of the key first time every time and drives superbly well - just before leaving Madrid she had €1968 on various bits n pieces

As always not withstanding the works in Madrid we sent her to our workshop and had her completely checked over - as well as the new a/c compressor a new alternator was fitted as well as new belts and hoses

Wonderfully original you're transported back in time when at the helm in the high up driving position observing down the square bonnet where the Bahama Gold paint, which has just been professionally coach polished, gleems

Everything is as original, although the paint has been refreshed in Spain prior to our claiming her

Chrome door mirrors are nice as are the silver painted door & bonnet hinges as well as the D posts being painted in body colour, rather the black vinyl

Only three owners had the privilege of her use in Spain bringing the mileage up to only 84381kilometers

The original Austin Rover certificate from her birth is still with her, confirming the original registration is the original from new, and first registration was 9th February 1984, in Madrid

Thereafter on this same certificate there are 14 further stamps from the local "Inspeccion Tecnica de Vehiculos - Espana" from 1986 through to 2021

Original instruction manual sits in the clear cover from the original owners, Gesteria Lirola S.L with their logo

We are now the fourth of her charmed life and would be quite comfortable to remain so should we not find a buyer as she is just such a gem

Spanish registered currently so EU taxes paid - we can offer UK registration if required
