Are you a Lamborghini enthusiast? In that case you must love the Urus, that is mandatory. The Urus is the reason Lamborghini still exists. So-called purists (who don’t but Lamborghinis anyway) crucified the car but every Lamborghini enthusiast immediately wanted to buy one. That is not so strange because whilst the Urus shares a platform with Porsche and Audi as part of the VAG family, Lamborghini has managed to create a proper Lamborghini. The world demands SUV’s and Lamborghini needed a good selling one to be able to continue making V10 and V12 cars. The result is impressive. What a brute of a car to see, especially when it has a black finish like the one we have here. The Lamborghini Urus has a twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 engine. It produces 650 Ps and has an eight-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. The example, supplied in 2019, is a 2020 model loaded with full options. The car has clocked up a paltry 21,000 km and is in pristine condition.

The outside is exactly how you would expect a Lamborghini to look, flamboyant with an aggressive nose. You don’t have to wonder if people will make way on the Autobahn when the catch hold of you in the rearview mirror. Both bodywork and paintwork are unblemished. Of note is the Akrapovic exhaust. The tinted windows add to the car’s menacing appearance. Add the 23 inch black gloss rims and the factory Black-styling pack is complete.
Inside is of course fully leathered up. Lamborghini has left its trademark properties on the inside. There is selectable driving mode and an ignition button that appears to have been taken straight out of a jet fighter. It is good know this example has been fully accessorised. You will not want for anything. We have full leather, a DAB B&O sound system, Carplay, 360 degree camera, every drivers assist system going, a standby heater, acoustic glass, tow bar, garage door opener, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats with memory function, panoramic roof, automatic boot opener, led headlights, Keyless entry, alarm and head-up display. All of this presented in immaculate fashion.
Mechanically the car is just as impressive. With a curb weight of over two ton it is certainly no lightweight, you however quickly forget its weight once you are on your way. The handling of the Urus is hardy believable. Thanks to its 48 volt system the Urus’s suspension adjusts in a flash, effortlessly dealing with its weight. As a real Lamborghini should be it rapidly becomes pure bliss to drive this car. Put it in Corsa mode and with all systems poised to go you are ready to be launched. Once done with attacking your favourite stretch of road or track you turn the mode to Strada and float home in all comfort. The shocks soften, the exhaust note dimmed you head on home in serenity and comfort whilst listening to your favourite tune on the B&O sound system. It is absolutely a whizz at everything. The performance is a breathtaking 0-100 km/hr in 3.6 seconds and a top of 305 km/hr.
Considering the short time it has been in production the Urus is by far the most successful Lamborghini to date since the brand’s inception in 1963. With delivery times currently of over two years why wait? This pristine Urus is ready and waiting for you in Brummen.
