This is a very attractive 1989 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V. The car is finished in the beautiful color “Blau Schwarz Metallic”. In addition, this car is also equipped with perforated leather on the seats, air conditioning, central locking and power windows. The car has been part of a large Mercedes-Benz collection for a long time and is still in very good condition. The 190E 2.3 16V is powered by a 2.3 liter, four-cylinder, 16-valve designed by Cosworth. The engine is truly indestructible and has a beautiful character. Cosworth was initially commissioned to develop an engine for rallying. By the time engine development was coming to an end, Audi dominated with the five-cylinder turbo engines and Mercedes-Benz decided to focus on the DTM. In order to participate, Mercedes-Benz had to sell a number of road cars with a car that was basically the same as the DTM car. That was initially the 2.3 16V, later the 2.5 16V and then even the EVO 1 and EVO 2 models. To show the world that the 190E 2.3 16V was a fast version but had not lost any of the pure Mercedes-Benz quality, "das Haus" decided to have the car drive around Nardo to collect 50,000 euros in the shortest possible time. kilometers to travel. The 190th 2.3 16V set the record with an average speed of 247.94 kilometers per hour, setting 12 world records to its name.

Impressive data, of course, and also numbers that underline the quality of Mercedes-Benz. However, the record attempt was not the moment that Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts embraced the 2.3 16V. That moment came at the Nürburgring when in May 1984 a then unknown driver named Ayrton Senna drove everyone home in a race with all equal 190E 2.3 16Vs. This example was delivered new in Italy and is completely rust free thanks to the warm Italian climate. The car has recently had major maintenance and is therefore both optically and technically in very good condition. The paint of the car has already been thinly repainted in the original color for cosmetic reasons and looks great. The car is on the original wheels fitted with good tires in the correct sizes. The bodywork looks beautiful and has beautiful thin sheet metal and correct fits. Also items such as the lamps and rear spoiler are all in very good condition and look beautiful.

The interior is also neatly cared for. The perforated leather on the seats is in good condition and looks good. The seats are comfortable and offer more support than you would expect at first glance. The dashboard is also neatly cared for and an additional advantage of this car is the air conditioning with which the car was delivered new. The instruments and controls are all in very good condition and in good Mercedes-Benz tradition ready for another 35 years of service.

The mechanicals have recently been subjected to major maintenance and is in excellent health. The 2.3 16V four-cylinder produces 185 hp and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The transmission is equipped with a so-called "dogleg" pattern, which means that the first gear is in the place where the 2 is in a normal car. The engine needs revs to deliver its maximum power. However, the engine is happy to rev and the transmission shifts precisely, making it a pure pleasure to drive this car on wonderfully winding roads. The power is all in the upper rev range so if you want to use every horsepower you will have to work for it. If the speed you have gained has to be shaken off, the excellently adjustable brakes are at your disposal, which provide more than sufficient deceleration and the chassis is also neatly cared for.

The car will be delivered including board folder, general information about the model and invoices of the recently performed maintenance. In short, not only a wonderful Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 16V in an appealing color combination, but also a car that is in excellent condition both optically and technically.
