Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 Veloce

Take a deep breath Alfisti, because this fiery red 1979 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 Veloce will have the Alfa blood running through your veins at top speed. The reason: a stunning beautiful condition and full (originally Dutch) history! The Alfa Romeo classic was delivered new and always neatly maintained in Holland. On top of that, lots of love has been put into it. As you can see, the 2nd series Alfa Spider looks incredibly tasty. Rosso with Beige is a dream combination of course and the wooden steering wheel sends our nostalgic feelings to the highest level. With 128 hp on the rear wheels, the addition “Veloce” is certainly not out of place. This is how a classic roadster should be! Now for sale at Prins.

History
The Spider adventure began with the Duetto in 1966, followed by the Coda Tronca (or Fastback) version like this one. The extra powerful 2000 Veloce was introduced in 1971 and lasted for 10 years. So you’re looking at one of the latest models. Thanks to excellent maintenance and lots of passion, this original Dutch delivered Italian has still not forgotten how to steal the show after 43 years of shining. In fact, the Alfa Spider 2000 Veloce seems to get more beautiful every year. Waiting is not an option! Genuine fans should strike now they can…

Exterior
In 1969, the Italian manufacturer said goodbye to the “Osso di seppia” or boat tail concept for which the Duetto is known. The sloping trunk line was exchanged for a straight back, the fastback, which made the Alfa Spider just a bit more sporty and modern. “Kamm tailed” Series 2 can also be recognized by a modified grille with fewer horizontal bars and rectangular rear light units. The fiery red Rosso Alfa lacquer almost literally pops off the eye-catching bodywork. Moreover, the overall condition is absolutely marvelous. Pininfarina could still be proud of bringing this kind of masterpiece. Several chrome parts tell us this is a typically 60s / 70s icon. Star designed wheels make our Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 Veloce extra desirable.

Interior
With the black roadster roof down, the visual pleasure has come to a top. That’s right, you’re looking at a Beige leather interior! An interior that’s in an extraordinary neat shape. And again the Pininfarina logo is there for a reason. The characteristic analog instruments, including the ones located in deep separate tubes, breath 100% Alfa Romeo nostalgia. Get behind the wooden 3-spoke steering wheel and you will treat the world on a smile as powerful as the Alfa virus. Once the right foot goes down, there’s no turning back…

Technique & performance
Don’t try to resist. Sooner or later everyone will be captivated by the beauty of the Alfa Romeo Spider. It’s a true gem from a technical point of view too: the engine, which has been upgraded to 2.0 liters, has the same 4-cylinder Twin Cam configuration as the other versions. For the ultimate roadster feeling, all 128 horses are sent to the back via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Spider 2000 Veloce symbolizes pure driving pleasure. And as far as this one’s concerned, it will be continued in style for many years to come. Would the real fan please go Dutch?

Cordiali Saluti,
Prins Classics.
