2010 ASTON MARTIN DBS – MANUAL
We are delighted to offer this excellent example of the famed 6-speed manual DBS, in rare 2+2 seating configuration and finished in the stunning colour of Storm Black over Obsidian Black hides.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest hits of the famed 1st generation Gaydon production era, the DBS, specified with the 6-speed manual transmission, continues to be one of the most sought-after models by enthusiasts of the marque and has all the right ingredients for future classic status.
Whilst related to the DB9, the DBS packed a lot more punch. The normally aspirated V12 engine produced 510bhp and for the first time in the marque’s history, Carbon Ceramic Brake discs were used. The DBS was also considerably lightened with the use of carbon fibre for some body panels.
The DBS model was first introduced to the world in Daniel Craig’s debut 007 movie, Casino Royale, where it played a starring role. The reaction to the menacing DBS, worldwide, was spectacular with Aston Martin dealers enjoying full order books on launch. Customer deliveries of the DBS commenced in 2007.
Initially, no doubt to differentiate the DBS from the DB9 and to position it as the more dynamic, focused model, the DBS was originally only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Being one of the last sports GT cars available with a V12 engine and manual transmission, it is this configuration that has gone on to be much lusted after by the enthusiast motoring community. Approximately a third of DBS’ built were manual.
For the first two years of production, the DBS was only available with 2+0 seating configuration, however, latterly, to satisfy customer demand, a 2+2 option was introduced. Using data supplied by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust, we have been able to ascertain that the combination of the manual gearbox and 2+2 seating was very rare with just 114 being built in total and just 28 for the UK RHD market.
It is one of those cars that we now offer for sale. First registered in October 2010 and finished in Storm Black (a fantastic black that has a red undertone and really ‘pings’ in the sunlight) over Obsidian Black semi aniline hides. This 2010 model year example features the improved specification by this stage in the build period, including 1000w B&O Beosound audio system and also benefits from optional extras including 2+2 seating, Piano Black fascia panel, auto dimming rear view mirror, magnum silver meshes, silver seatbelts, polished Alloy tread plates and 10 spoke Diamond Turned wheels (2kg per wheel lighter than the original DBS wheel pattern).
Purchased by its last owner in 2016 and benefitting from annual servicing at Aston Martin main agents and respected Aston Martin specialists, our pre-sales inspection confirms this example to be in excellent condition throughout, having covered just over 2,000 miles a year since being built.
Supplied to its next owner with our usual highest standards of preparation, with 12 months warranty and an Aston Martin umbrella, of course!
Available for viewing and demonstration now at our Hertfordshire showrooms.
