1935 geriet Lagonda in wirtschaftliche Schwierigkeiten. Die Firma wurde vom irischen Unternehmer Alan Good übernommen welcher die Marke in der automobilen Oberklasse ansiedeln wollte.

Ein Erster Schritt dahin war der M45, der einen leistungsstarken und 4,5l großen Motor des Zulieferers Meadows bekam. Als neuer technischer Leiter wurde W.O. Bentley engagiert.

Der größte Erfolg der Marke war der Sieg eines Lagonda Privatteams beim 24h Rennen von Le Mans 1935. Der M45 Rapide des Teams Foxx and Nicholl beendete eine seit 4 Jahren andauernde Siegesserie von Alfa Romeo.

Unser Auto wurde neu nach Südafrika verschifft und nicht in England registriert.

1990 wurde der Lagonda in Santa Monica von der legendären Werkstatt Hill + Vaughan (Phil Hill, F1 Weltmeister 1961) teilweise restauriert.

Hill & Vaughan Restaurierungen genießen einen sehr guten Ruf. Vor allem auf eine einwandfreie Mechanik hat Hill als Ex Rennfahrer immer großen Wert gelegt.

2007 kam der Lagonda nach über 70 Jahren zurück nach England wo er vom Markenspezialisten Jim Stokes betreut wurde.

Der aktuelle Eigentümer nahm mit dem Wagen erfolgreich an einigen Rallyes teil, aus Zeitmangel gibt er ihn jetzt aber ab.

Der Lagonda ist für eine Zulassung in Deutschland vorbereitet, alle Unterlagen dazu inkl. §21 und §23 liegen vor.

In 1935, Lagonda ran into economic difficulties. The company was taken over by the Irish entrepreneur Alan Good who wanted to establish the brand in the upper class of automobiles.

A first step was the M45, which got a powerful 4.5l engine from the supplier Meadows. As new technical director W.O. Bentley was engaged.

The brands greatest success was the victory of a Lagonda private team in the 24h race of Le Mans in 1935. The M45 Rapide of the Foxx and Nicholl team ended a winning streak of Alfa Romeo that had lasted for 4 years.

Our car was newly shipped to South Africa and not registered in England.

In 1990 the Lagonda was partially restored in Santa Monica by the legendary workshop Hill + Vaughan (Phil Hill, F1 World Champion 1961).

Hill & Vaughan restorations enjoy a very good reputation. As an ex-racing driver, Hill has always attached great importance to flawless mechanics.

In 2007, after more than 70 years, the Lagonda returned to England where it was looked after by marque specialist Jim Stokes.

The current owner successfully participated in several rallies with the car, but due to lack of time he is now selling it.
