The Model A Ford was offered in body styles to suit most every possible taste and purpose, including assorted trucks. The first truck design offered on the standard Model A chassis has become the most iconic: the Open Cab Pickup, better-known to posterity and hot-rodders as the roadster pickup, for its open driver's compartment covered by a simple folding canvas top. It was a design carried over from the Model T, and was originally born out of practicality; the open top kept the hardworking passengers cool. The sporty lines, however, made it an enduring favorite, and today it is one of the most desirable versions of this classic chassis.

A lifelong aficionado of Model As since his youth spent driving a Tudor, Jim Taylor acquired this example in 2004. It is the recipient of an older but obviously high-quality restoration, in Bronson Yellow with black fenders, Seal Brown accents, and orange pinstriping and wheels, and bears a LeBaron Bonney brown vinyl interior of the proper graining. Trimmed as a DeLuxe model, it features a chromed windshield frame with stainless stanchions, as well as a single side mounted spare tire on the driver's side. Additional accessories include a side-view mirror, rear-view mirror with clock, quail radiator mascot, dual taillights, and provisions for wind wings, as well as a refinished oak floor inside the bed. Reportedly the truck's engine and drivetrain were both rebuilt prior to Mr. Taylor's purchase by the noted Schwam's, one of the top Model A mechanical shops in the country, and were balanced and blueprinted.

Recording 13,176 miles at the time of cataloging, this is an exceptionally attractive example of one of the most sought-after Model As, offered from a lifelong Ford aficionado.
