Engine No. 7S 17017 LA

Body No. 4S 8708

Jaguar's sleek E-Type, one of the most beautiful automobiles ever produced, steadily evolved over its production run, with special attention given to increased power and interior comforts. The third-generation Series III featured a longer chassis, accommodating greater space for the driver and a passenger; flared wheel arches, accommodating wire tires; and the newly introduced large and potent, silky V-12 engine with four Zenith carburetors. This was the final version of the E-Type and proved extremely popular. Today it is enjoyed by many enthusiasts as a masterful touring automobile, especially when equipped with the four-speed manual transmission.

The Taylor Series III Roadster is finished in dark Regency Red over Cinnamon interior, with black Everflex top and matching Wilton wool carpets, and retains its original engine, all as per its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. It has been refinished but retains the original leather interior, showing a pleasing light patina throughout, as well as the original finishes under the hood. Equipment includes the desirable four-speed manual transmission, as well as air conditioning, power steering, Nardi wood steering wheel, period-correct AM/FM radio, and rear luggage rack, as well as 1973-style bumpers. Fifteen-inch chrome wire wheels are shod with Pirelli P4000 radial tires. The trunk is lined with its original material, and houses a matching spare wheel with Pirelli P5 spare tire, as well as a top boot and jack. At the time of cataloging, the car had recorded 19,558 miles.

Showing obvious long-term preservation and good care, this is a highly satisfying example of the most evolved E-Type, with smooth twelve-cylinder power.
