Description
This very rare 1 of only 321 completely original LP5000s side draft, built to the original color as Ferruccio Lamborghin’s personal Countach was built (white on black) and the color he said the Countach should only ever be made in, is now available by private sale. This rate car has the benefit of a full engine out rebuild from the infamous George Evans. This round belly model is the last of the pure Countach as Gandini originally designed it. After this model came the QV and 25th anniversary that lost the original design. This LP5000s has all matching-numbers, side-draft carbureted example, that spent the majority of its life in the hands of a single owner, who purchased it at Milano Imports in Gilroy, California, with just 1,040 kilometers on the odometer in March 1987. The car includes documentation back to 1985, when it was imported by Chequered Flag in Los Angeles. Never restored but having been driven more than 58,000 kilometers the car has never had any paintwork done, as you can see from the paint depth pictures, new tires all round were added 2 years ago. The Lamborghini Certification document recently acquired from the factory shows it was originally built for the Italy market hence the Millometer is in KM, and all other details are completely matching. This car is a great time capsule with the benefit of having the Infamous George Evans in Columbus, Ohio complete that full engine out rebuild that was fully documented and photographed, performed 4,000 kilometers ago in 2005 with a visit from Valentino Balboni to check the car (also photographed). This work was extensively photo-documented and included a complete engine rebuild with new JE pistons, new bearings, rebuilt carburetors, rebuilt heads with redone camshafts to European spec profiles, new guides, new timing chain, new water pump, rebuilt alternator, rebuilt ignition system including distributor, cap, rotor, and plug wires, new motor mounts, new AC evaporator core, new fuel pumps and lines, recoated headers, new oil lines and all-new belts, and coolant and heater hoses. The engine compartment was cleaned and cosmetically restored, and a new MSD ignition system was fitted, as well. The flywheel was machined and a new release bearing and Kevlar clutch fitted as well, along with new clutch hydraulic hoses and a rebuilt clutch cylinder. The transmission was gone through, including new synchromesh and new seals, as well. All four CV joints were also rebuilt, all four rear shocks rebuilt, and new bushings fitted, as well as the front control arms fitted with new bushings. Today the Countach Is located in Vancouver Canada where assistance will be provided to import the car back to the USA, 2 forms are required to be filled in, and my customs broker can do the work, alternatively, the sale can be done through Lamborghini Seattle where they will import the car on your behalf. I have a few enclosed shipping companies on hand to deliver the car also. I have a drop box folder full of photos and video, so please contact me to get this. I have photographed the car extensively showing paint thickness readings on all panels, all window markings to show originality and much more. Countach's have recently caught up in value to the market which was long overdue an upwards correction, with some models fetching close to $1m, and the least desirable models (25th) already at $600k plus, this 5000S model with very low production qty is an asset class that will keep going up in value, especially if a recession hits. I have another 2 cars on order and need the space in the garage.
